Reusch Makalu is an active base layer completely made from 16 micron merino wool. These extremly thin woolen fibres are the reason that the shirt can also be used by people who avoided woolen products in the past. This solution completely prevents itching caused by wool in the past.

    Reusch's solution makes their wool garments also suitable for people who couldn't use wool products in the past. No more itching with the 16 micron knitting technology. Humans skin can be sensitive to 18mikron fibers, but not 16. The reason wool itches some people is the fact that most other garments are made from 18 to 32 mikron fibers.
