Outdoor Research Trailbreaker Tour is a technical ski touring and ski mountaineering pant designed to balance weather protection, breathability, and freedom of movement. The standard fit and thoughtful technical solutions allow for comfortable use on both the ascent and descent.

The upper part of the pants is made of bluesign® approved breathable softshell , which is resistant to abrasion and offers stretch with a “movement-mirroring” effect for natural movement. The lower part is made of waterproof 3-layer fabric that sheds snow and protects in deep powder and when in contact with edges. This combination of materials provides wind resistance , water repellency , very good breathability and balanced protection in various conditions.

The waist is adjustable with loops, two-way adjusters and a double press stud , and zippers on the outer thighs for climate control. The leg ends have a zipper and press stud for widening or narrowing depending on the type of shoe and an inner gaiter with a slot for a power-strap . The knees are pre-shaped , the hem is protected by reinforcements (scuff guard) , and there are also loops for suspenders .

The pants have plenty of space for essential gear: a best-in-class avalanche transceiver pocket with carabiner in the right pocket (identified by a contrasting zipper), two zipped hand pockets and large side cargo pockets . The pockets are positioned to the side so they don't interfere with movement and the use of a backpack or climbing harness.
